Bodies of slain Maoists handed over to family

Malkangiri: Police today handed over the bodies of slain Maoists- Sunadhar and Lachhman Kunjami- to the family members today.

Both of them were gunned down by the security forces three days ago during a combing operation at Bhejaguda forest in Mathili area in the district.

35-year-old Sunadhar was an area committee member of the Darbha Maoist division in Chhattisgarh and was carrying a reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head, police said. Sunadhara was allegedly involved in several cases of murder and extortion in the area and in the adjoining Darbha region of Chhattisgarh.

Lachhman Kunjami, an area committee member, was Sunadhar’s deputy and carried a reward of Rs 4 lakh in Odisha and Rs 5 lakhs in Chhattisgarh.
