BJD’s ‘Jansampark Padyatra’ concludes

Bhubaneswar: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD), which had launched its ‘Jansampark Padyatra’ (a mass contact drive) on October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti) to sensitise people about its various developmental initiatives in Odisha, was concluded today on Jayprakash Narayan Jayanti.

The 11-day long exercise launched by party supremo and chief minister Naveen Patnaik was joined by several ministers, MLAs and party workers from across the 32 organisational districts of the party.

During the 11-day long padyatra, the party had slammed the NDA government at the Centre over discontinuation of several welfare programmes and slashing funds from some schemes.

“BJD has been fighting against central apathy and it will continue to do so”, Patnaik said on Sunday while addressing gathering here.

BJD-led government has also won trust of tribal, farmers and poor people. Odisha is now a leading state in the field of social security, the CM added.

The padyatra had started from Ganganagar area of Bhubaneswar before taking it to other places in the State.
