Spl Court allows Vig 2-day remand of IAS Partha Sarathi
Cuttack: The Special Vigilance Court in Cuttack today allowed the State Vigilance to take IAS officer Partha Sarathi Mishra, who has been arrested on charges of amassing disproportionate assets, on a two-day remand starting tomorrow to further its probe.
While hearing on a plea filed by the State Vigilance seeking a five-day remand of Partha Sarathi Mishra, the special court stated counsel of the IAS officer can remain present during the interrogation undertaken by the sleuths in the remand period.
Partha Sarathi was earlier arrested on Friday by anti-corruption wing of Vigilance following raids at his offices and residence. Following his arrest the Chief Minister has also suspended him from his duties.
Mishra owns three massive buildings one each at Puri, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack whose value runs over Rs 2.5 crore. Preliminary investigations to trace his total movable and immovable properties worth more than Rs 5 crore are underway.
