BJD effects major rejig in party organisation, district committee
Bhubaneswar: In a major rejig in the ruling BJD nine leaders were appointed as party observers for 11 districts. As many as five ministers – Debi Mishra, Arun Sahoo, Sanjay Dasburma, Pradeep Panigrahy and Pranab Prakash Das – were offered organisational charges. While Youth Affairs charge was given to Sanjay Dasburma, Student Affairs charge was handed over to Arun Sahoo.
Among the 11 district observers, Surya Narayan Patro has been given the charge of Bolangir district, Prafulla Samal has been handed over the charge of Jagatsinghpur, Debi Prasad Mishra of Sambalpur, Kishore Mohanty of Subarnapur, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak of Balasore, Sanjay Dasburma has been given twin charge of Nabarangpur and Rayagada district, Arun Sahoo of Mayurbhanj, Pradeep Panigrahi of Gajapati and Pranab Prakash Das also in the charge of two districts Koraput and Malkangiri.
An organisational restructure was also carried out in the party today with Debi Prasad Mishra being promoted from the post of General Secretary to Vice President, Pradeep Panigrahi and Pranab Prakash Das were appointed as secretaries, Kishore Mohanty, Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak and Sanjay Dasburma were appointed as general secretaries.
Further, a restructure in the Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) was also carried out by BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Names of five state vice presidents, 21 general secretaries, 23 secretaries, 14 organisational secretaries were announced. Names of new District Presidents for 22 districts were also announced.
It may be mentioned that, the members whose names were announced earlier on April 14 will continue in their respective charges.
