Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence, Ashok Pandey has intimated about the inclusion of the Odisha tableau in the parade in a letter to Chief Secretaries of concerned states.  The Ministry of Defence has finalized tableaux models of 16 states and UTs and issued guidelines for the construction of tableaux, artistes and music.

The word "School Bus" should be written prominently on both front and rear. It is also mandated that each bus should be equipped with a fire extinguisher and a first aid facility. Moreover, iron enclosures should be put up around the windows while the maximum speed limit for the buses should be within 50 km/h.

The GI tag was also given to Kendrapara Rasabali (a kind of dessert), Koraput Kalajeera rice, and Paintings of Lanjia Saura.
