Fire Breaks Out At Incense Stick Factory In Cuttack Jagatpur, No Casualties

A massive fire broke out at an incense stick factory in Jagatpur Industrial Estate in Cuttack on Sunday. As per sources, the blaze erupted at the factory named SS Enterprises and its godown which manufactures incense sticks under the brand name Mangaldeep. There was however no reports of any casualties in the incident. Even though the exact reason behind the fire is unknown, it is believed that a short circuit might have led to the mishap. A fire brigade team has been pressed into service to bring the flames under control. As per sources, lakhs of rupees worth of raw materials used in the manufacture of incense sticks was reduced to ashes in the fire.

Pilot Vehicle Of Odisha Minister Turns Turtle, 5 Policemen Injured

Five Police pesonnel were injured after the pilot vehicle of Tribal Development Minister Jagannath Saraka overturned near Uliapada village under Adaba Police limits of Gajapati district on Sunday.

Sources said, the mishap occurred when the Minister was on his way to Rayagada from Bhubaneswar on Sunday morning. The police vehicle gave escort to the Minister's vehicle from Paralakhemundi. However, the driver lost control over the vehicle when it was approaching Uliapada and overturned, injuring all the five occupants.

As per reports the injured have been admitted to the nearby Birikot medical for treatment.

Man Hacks Wife To Death In Odisha’s Bolangir

In a shocking incident, a man hacked his wife to death at their house at Bharatbahal village under Larambha Police Station limits in Patnagarh sub-division of Bolangir district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Lipi Nayak while her husband, Purandar Nayak has been absconding after the incident.

Reports said, Purandar married Lipi around five years ago and they were having a cordial relationship. However, the couple had an argument on some unknown issue last night.

Following this, an enraged Purandar attacked Lipi with an axe leading to her death on the spot.

Later, Larambha Police rushed to the spot after receiving the information from the neighbours. Police have sent the body for post-mortem and launched a manhunt to nab Purandar.
