As ten days have passed since a lady teacher of Sunshine English Medium School in Mahaling under Sindhekela Police limits of Kalahandi district still remain untraceable, Opposition parties have trained their guns in the Odisha government accusing it of shielding the president of the school, Govind Sahu.

The fact that the Minister of State of Home Affairs, Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra had once endorsed Gobinda Sahu from a stage and heaped praises on him for being an educationist and philanthropist, has put the ruling BJD in a tight spot over the issue.

It has been alleged by the family of Mamita that Sahu had forced many women employees at the school to keep illicit relationship with him. In fact, he is directly involved in the missing of Mamita because she threatened to expose Sahu, alleged her brother, Bunty Sahu.

In fact, a fresh viral audio clip of a telephonic conversation between a colleague of Mamita and her brother has made the rumour mills agog.

Mamita’s colleague can be clearly heard in the audio clip telling his brother that Sahu had indeed sexually harassed many lady employees of the school and Mamita had threatened to expose him.

Mamita’s colleague can also be heard telling the former's brother that Sahu had called upon Mamita on the pretext of an official meeting, the day after which she went missing.

Her brother Bunty has registered an FIR against Sahu after which the Police have detained him since the past four days. However, questions were raised by her parents over the reluctance to arrest Sahu and police inaction as a result of which Mamita still remains untraceable even after 10 days.

“It has now come to my notice that Sahu was operating a sex racket in the school which my sister had vehemently opposed and threatened to expose. That is why Sahu has either killed my sister or has hidden her at some location,” alleged Bunty.

Moreover, Minister Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra’s alleged closeness with Sahu has fuelled speculations about the government unduely shielding the accused.

BJP leader, Manoj Meher alleged, “She has been missing since the last 11 days, but the local MLA who is the Minister of State for Home Affairs is mum over the issue.”

Congress MLA from Kantabanji, Santosh Singh Saluja demanded resignation of Mishra and said, “The Minister has been named in the FIR, so it is not possible to hold an impartial enquiry in the matter as long as he is at the helm of affairs.”

However, the BJD stayed away from the issue. Though Minister Mishra is still silent on the issue, the vice president of Kalahandi Distreict BJD, Jitendra Mohanty said, “There is no relation between the said school, its owner and the BJD. The case is still under investigation, so Captain Mishra does not want to speak to the meadia on this fearing interference in the probe.”
