Odisha Reports 1,208 Covid-19 Cases, 66 Deaths

The Covid-19 positive tally in Odisha surged to 9,84,731 while the death toll touched 6,302 with the addition of 1,208 fresh cases and 66 fatalities on Friday, informed the State Health and Family (H&FW) Department.

Of the fresh cases reported today, 702 are from quarantine centres, while the rest 506 are local contact cases, informed the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.

Khordha district reported the highest 399 cases in the last 24 hours, followed by Cuttack (173), Balasore (62), Jajpur (57) and Angul (55). 

In terms of deaths, 19 fatalities were reported from Khordha district, 11 from Cuttack, 10 from Ganjam, six from Balasore, four from Angul, three from Keonjhar, two each from Bolangir, Mayurbhanj and Puri districts and one from Bhadrak, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Rayagada and Sambalpur districts.

With this, the active cases in the State remained at 13,006 while 9,65,370 patients have recovered, including 1,652 on Thursday, from the disease so far.

Odisha has so far conducted 16424645 sample tests, including 69,369 in the past 24 hours. The daily test positivity rate stands at 2.03 percent.
