After much deliberation, the Odisha government on Friday decided to resume physical classroom teaching in all Universities and Colleges under the Higher Education Department.

As per a notification issued by the Higher Education Department, Universities and Colleges will open for physical classroom teaching from August 16, 2021 for the Post Graduate (PG) first year and Under Graduate (UG), Pre-Final year students.

The hostel accommodation facilities for the students in respective Universities and Colleges will also reopen from August 16, Higher Education Department tweeted.

As per previous announcements, the examinations for PG and UG Final Year students will be held in online mode.

 

On Thursday, the Odisha government  allowed reopening of schools for Class IX students across the State for the academic session 2021-22.

As per the decision, the physical classes for Class 9 students will resume in government, government aided and private educational institutions from August 16.

“Government have been pleased to allow reopening of Schools in respect of Class-IX of Government, Government Aided and Private Educational Institutions coming under the jurisdiction of S&ME Department and are supposed to appear the Examinations under BSE, Odisha, CBSE and ICSE and other Boards recognised by Government of Odisha  w.e.f. 16th August, 2021,” the School and Mass Education Department said in a release. 

The teaching hours for Class-IX students will be from 9 am to 12.30 pm excluding Sundays and Public Holidays. The students are allowed to attend classes either on online mode or offline mode in consultation with their parents.
