A woman undergoing treatment at Rayagada hospital reportedly killed self by jumping from the 3rd floor (Medicine ward) of the building. While the reason of the suicide is unknown, police have started an investigation.
ADMO Baradakanta Mishra said prima facie it seems like a suicide case as the deceased, who was admitted to the hospital on July 7 after complaining of fever, locked the bathroom door from inside and jumped by breaking the window glass. "Everything will be clear after police investigation," he said.

Odisha reported 58 deaths due to Covid-19 infection on Saturday taking the overall number of fatalities to 4,534.
Highest number of 11 fatalities was reported from Khordha district, seven each from Bargarh and Puri, six each from Sundargarh and Ganjam, four from Sambalpur, three from Kendrapara, two each from Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Nayagarh and one each from Angul, Gajapati, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi and Mayurbhanj.
The State has so far tested over 1,44,14,368 samples for Covid-19, including 78,560 in the last 24 hours.
Odisha reported 2334 new Covid positive cases on Saturday and the tally in the State rose to 9,37,470. The active cases in the State reached 26, 364 while 9,06,519 patients have recovered, including 3,341 on Saturday, from the disease so far.
Of the fresh Covid-19 cases reported from 30 districts, 1,342 are from quarantine centres, while the rest 992 are local contact cases, the data revealed by the I&PR Department stated.
