The financial assistance is for the MNREGA workers who had worked in the months of April, May and June. Each worker will receive an extra Rs 50 for each day of work done during the months.

As per an official release issued by the State government, 5.03 crore mandays were created in 2020-21 (till July 1, 2020) against 7.59 crore by the same time in the financial year 2021-22.

To tackle the bonded labour and migration problem in 20 blocks of Kalahandi, Balangir, Bargarh and Nuapada districts, the State government has been focusing on special programmes since 2019-20.

As per the announcement, Rs 207 crore was allocated to all landless farmers (to be disbursed in three installments). The announcement emabled the landless farmers under State-sponsored KALIA scheme to get an additional Rs 1,000 assistance in view of the pandemic.
