Candidates aspiring to appear for the Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test (OSSTET-2021) will now get more time to fill up forms for the test as the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) on Saturday announced extension of the application process.
The board has said candidates now can apply for the test till July 18. The form fill-up was supposed to end on July 13.
BSE, Odisha conducts the OSSTET exam comprising two papers - paper 1 and 2 once a year. Candidates who qualify the exam become eligible for appointment as teachers in secondary schools in the State.
This year, the BSE had activated the application form for the OSSTET on July 2.
The extension of form fill-up date came a day after School and Mass Education Minister Samir Dash hinted at a similar move while speaking in the backdrop of protest of students.
Yesterday, students pursuing Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) staged a protest outside the residence of minister Samir Ranjan Dash protesting the decision of government to conduct the language test for 200 marks in the OSSTET.
“We are considering the problems raised by the students. We will take all possible measures for the students so that no one will be deprived of the test,” Dash had said.
