A cyclonic circulation lies over coastal Odisha and neighbourhood states between 2.1 and 3.6 km above mean sea level.

Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation, a low pressure area is likely to form over West-central and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coasts by tomorrow (July 11), said the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday.

“Under the influence, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall very likely over Central India (MP, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Odisha) during next 5 days and isolated heavy rainfall very likely over West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh on 10th & 11th July, 2021,” tweeted IMD.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next five days:

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 10.07.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 11.07.2021)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri.

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam and Puri.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput.

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Gajapati, Ganjam and Rayagada.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.07.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 13.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts Malkangiri, Koraput and Nabarangpur.
