Senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Samir Mohanty alleged that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has been held hostage and he should be freed.

Addressing a presser in Bhubaneswar on Thursday, the BJP leader referred to some videos that were uploaded on social media in the last few days featuring statements and remarks of the Chief Minister.

“After seeing the videos and the way they have been prepared, all suspect their genuineness and deem these as sensitive ones. All might have seen a video in which the CM was seen in a lungi and the manner in which he campaigned for the Jodi Sankha,” Mohanty said.

He suspected that these videos of the CM on social media are AI-generated as one of the videos shows that the Chief Minister is uttering the word ‘chor’ (thief).

“My belief is that a word like ‘chor’ will never come to him. As far as we know, he will never say such a derogatory word,” Mohanty said.

The BJP leader also raised a question on the kind of background music used for some of the videos. He also sought to know why the Chief Secretary and the DGP are unable to meet the Chief Minister.

This shows that the bureaucrats have taken over the decision-making and governance, he added.

No comments were received from the CM and the BJD.
