Two unidentified bike-borne miscreants allegedly kidnapped a six-year-old girl from near State Bank Chhak in Deograh on Monday. 

The Excise Department officials arrested four persons for smuggling banned cough syrup bottles in a train during a raid on Monday at Bamra Railway Station under Gobindpur Police limits of Sambalpur district.

Police on Sunday detained a person on charges of killing two youths over a trivial argument at Amarudhi village under K Balang Police limits of Sundargarh district. 

Sources said the accused were allegedly involved in smuggling in the guise of fish trade. They were targeting to sell the drugs to various clubs and pubs ahead of the New Year.

According to police, the crime was committed on December 7 in Tarnaka under the limits of Lallaguda police station.

Police seized 120 bottles of banned cough syrup from a person at Komna in Nuapada. The person was arrested for his alleged involvement in the smuggling. 

According to the police, the unidentified body of a young woman was found in two pieces in a field in Barauli village two-and-a-half months ago.

As per the priest, there was cash and ornaments which are usually donated by devotees coming to the temple. After stealing valuables from the donation box, the miscreants dumped the box near the kitchen of the temple.

Cuttack Mayor Subhash Singh further appealed to people to block his official page from their respective accounts.

As per reports, the duo had recently duped one Kishore Meher of Chandanbhati village on December 4. Sources said that the two had reached the house of Meher and asked him to give some money against some gold ornaments.

Preliminary investigations reveal that Bukhari was in touch with suspicious persons in Kerala and some Pakistani nationals too. Apart from this, Bukhari had married at least 6 to 7 girls from various parts of India including Kashmir, UP, Maharashtra, and Odisha.

Senior STF officials said that the accused is also wanted by Kashmir Police in relation to a case of cheating and forgery there and one non-bailable warrant is pending against him.

In a broad daylight crime, a college-going student was allegedly stabbed to death by three bike-borne miscreants in Rayagada district on Friday. 

The victim claims she was taken to the Deve Gowda Layout near Adugodi.
