The Odisha government has formed a Transfer and Posting Committee to manage the transfers of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Assistant Commandants, and Additional Superintendents. This move reduces the Director General of Police's (DGP) supervisory powers. The new committee, chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary Home Department, includes members from the Home Department and DG/IG of Police.
Odisha Police has arrested four members of the Trichy gang for involvement in a series of thefts across the city.
