A major fire broke out at a private hospital at Tulasipur in Cuttack today triggering panic among patients, attendants and staff. Locals found thick smoke billowing out from the top floor of the hospital and informed fire brigade.
As many as 17 passengers of a boat that got stuck in the middle of Nalabana in Chilika Lake on Sunday evening (January 31) were rescued following a six-hour-long search operation. The police official can be seen chasing a person ahead of him. In a dramatic fashion, the policeman stumbles and falls on the footpath, then picks himself up immediately. But in the end he catches hold of the person. It results in a scuffle between the police and the miscreant, but locals intervene to subdue the youth.

The youth was reportedly busy speaking on the phone when he was hit by a train passing through the level crossing. The youth died on the spot following the accident.
