Bhubaneswar: Political parties such as BJD, BJP and Congress will held their legislature party meetings today to chart out strategies ahead of the beginning of Odisha Assembly’s winter session from tomorrow.
Congress is planning to corner the ruling party over alleged links of BJD MLAs and MPs with multi-crore chit fund scam in the state.
Besides, mining and land scams, farmers’ issues and law order situation could be brought to notice of the House by MLAs of the Opposition party.
“Issues which affect the common man and hurt the interest of the state will be raised on a priority basis,” Narasimha Mishra, Leader of Opposition parties.
BJP MLAs is also looking for chances to raise chit fund scam-politicians link, discretionary quota and farmers’ issues.
“In today’s meeting we will discuss in detail the issues to be raised in the state Assembly. Migrant labourers and paddy distress sale will be burning topics in the House,” said Basant Panda, leader of BJP Legislature Party.
Meanwhile, BJD said it is ready to face any issues raised by the Opposition parties in the state Assembly.
“The ruling party is ready to discuss any issues that will be raised by the Opposition. Total eight bills will be passed in the winter session,” said Bikram Keshari Arukh, Parliamentary Affairs Minister.
During the winter session, there are 26 working days. On the first day of the session, additional budget bill will be passed.
