Bhubaneswar: A special team of BJP led by State unit president KV Singhdeo visited different blocks of Boudh and Nuapada districts to take the stock of the drought-like situation which is looming large due to scanty rainfall in the region.
The team met farmers of the districts and examined the ground situation.
They said agriculture in Boudh, Kantamal and Harbhanga blocks of Boudh district is highly affected by scanty rainfall. Official figures showed, Boudha has suffered from 26% rain deficit this monsoon.
On second day of the tour, the team visited several blocks of Nuapada district and took stock of the situation. They assured the farmers to take necessary steps to minimize the loss caused by the rain deficiency. It will prepare a report and submit to the State government.
BJP legislature party chief Basant Panda, party’s state vice-president Prithiraj Harichandan, secretary Bhrugu Baxipatra, Dillip Mallick and BJP Krushak Morcha president Mahes Sahu are prominent members of the team.
