Om, Dipu murder: Police takes Arif Khan to Khuntakata farmhouse
Cuttack: The commissionerate police on Wednesday took Arif Khan, a sharp shooter of Dhalasamant gang, to a farmhouse at Khuntakata near Athagarh for further investigation into the murder of Om and Dipu, the two former associates of the Dhalasamant brothers.
A police team led by Pramod Rath, ACP, Special Squad and accompanied Ajay Das, IIC of Chauliaganj police station and a scientific team, conducted a thorough search in the farmhouse premises. Police later interrogated Khan on the murder of Om and Dipu.
Notably, police, in the course of its investigation, had come to know about the involvement of Khan in the murder of Om and Dipu inside the farmhouse.
Notably, police had brought Khan on six-day remand on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Orissa High Court on Wednesday granted conditional bail to Sudhir Choudhury, project coordinator of Tantia Construction Ltd, who was arrested for his links with the Dhalasamant brothers in tender fixing.
While granting the bail, the court asked Choudhury not to leave the state without its prior permission and appear before the investigating officers (IOs) as and when required. The court also asked him not to try to influence the witnesses.
In another case, the Cuttack SDJM court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of Prakash Behera, Mangu Bastia and Samirkant Sharma, the associates of Dhalasamant brothers.
The three anti-socials were arrested by the police for their involvement in tender fixing and extortion.
