Gop block vice chairman attacked by miscreants, hospitalised
Gop: Gop block vice chairman Niranjan Mohapatra was hospitalised after being attacked by some miscreants near Subarnapur on Thursday.
According to sources, the assailants attacked Mohapatra with sharp weapons when he was on his was to block office.
Mohapatra sustained injuries on his hands and fingers in the attack, sources added.
“Like every day, I was going to office. Suddenly, Prakash Swain, Prabhat Swain and Sumanta Swain of Olandi area attacked me with rods and sword. They also attacked the people who tried to save me,” Mohapatra said. Asked about the reason behind the attack, Mohapatra, said, “Political enmity is the reason behind the attack. They had also attacked me on May 5.”
Seriously injured Mohapatra has been shifted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar.
