Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation today searched the bank lockers of former BJD leader and Rajya Sabha MP Pyari Mohan Mohapatra in connection with the multi-crore chit fund scam in Odisha.
The investigating agency which had seized the locker keys during its raid on Mohapatra’s residence in November last, opened the lockers in the presence of the MP’s family members.
The Central agency has not disclosed the details of the list, it prepared during the search.
Official sources said, the Odisha Jana Morcha (OJM) convenor is most likely to be quizzed for the second time by the CBI sleuths soon.
However, several attempts made to get his reaction on the development did not yield any result.
Earlier on November 21, it had questioned Mohapatra at its office in connection with the Seashore Group chit fund scam.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had on November 17 questioned him in connection with the Seashore Group’s money laundering act and the next day CBI conducted raids on Mohapatra’s houses in Bhubaneswar and Delhi.
