As per IMD, several parts of Odisha will experience heavy rainfall activities in the next 48 hours. A ‘yellow warning’ for heavy rainfall has also been issued for 14 Odisha districts in the next 24 hours.
Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at isolated places over the 14 districts of Odisha.
Several parts of Odisha are currently reeling under intense heat conditions due to weak monsoon flow. Chandbali recorded the highest maximum temperature of 37.2 degree Celsius on Wednesday
Malkangiri recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36 degree Celsius on Sunday.
Several parts of north Odisha, north interior and south coastal experienced moderate rain/thundershower in the past 24 hours.
As per the forecast of the Regional Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, there is a probability of rainfall activity in several parts of coastal, interior and southern Odisha from August 23rd.
As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), the fresh low pressure system is likely to form over north Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas around August 18, 2022.
The districts included Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Kendrapara.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike.
The low pressure area over central parts of Madhya Pradesh and neighbourhood has become less marked. A cyclonic circulation lies over south Jharkhand and neighbourhood, said India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.
After witnessing incessant rainfall last week, Odisha is all set to get some relief as no major warning for heavy rainfall has been issued by the India Meteorological Department for the next 2 to 3 days.
The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar on Friday said that cyclonic circulation over southeast Uttar Pradesh and neighbourhood persists and another cyclonic circulation lies over Jharkhand and neighbourhood.
A yellow warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for 14 districts of the state in the next 24 hours.
The weather office has also issued yellow warning for several districts in view of heavy rainfall activities.
As per IMD, the southwest monsoon further advanced into remaining parts of Odisha today covering the entire state. Already several parts of the State have started experiencing rainfall activities for past 24 hours.
