IMD issues yellow alert for thunderstorm in several Odisha districts

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted thunderstorm activities in several parts of Odisha in the next few days.

A yellow warning for thunderstorm with lightning has also been issued for various districts in the state.

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhargarh, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Khordha.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Koraput, Rayagada, Sundargarh, deogarh, Jharsuguda.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 01.06.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 02.06.2023)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Khordha, Keonjhargarh, Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 02.06.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 03.06.2023)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhargarh, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Ganjam.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 03.06.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 04.06.2023)

Yellow Warning: Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhargarh, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal.
