Villagers residing in Rayagada’s Gunupur block have been helpless for years. The locals allege suffering because of Government apathy and its unfulfilled promises.

The administration has put up barricades on both ends of the bridge, restricting tourists from walking on it. 

The deceased has been identified as Chandrama Bibhar, 55. According to the police, the incident happened around noon in Koilapara village. Rajesh Kulesika, who was staying in the neighbourhood, allegedly committed the crime.

In a shocking incident, a Class-I student died after he was allegedly attacked by a Class 6 student at an ashram school in Kolnara block of Rayagada district. As per reports, the Class 1 boy Gobinda Huika hailed from Jhileiguda village of Kolnara block. Gobinda suffered grievous injuries in the attack by the senior and was immediately rushed to MKCG Hospital in Berhampur.

So far, 96 persons of Rayagada are down with cholera and seven died of it.
