This 5T Smart school in Rayagada district is flooded with water. This was the situation at this school under Sadar Block of Rayagada following continuous rainfall. A week long rainfall has impacted the school in such a way, that the students and teachers have to wade through the inundated premises to get to their classrooms.

Though the school has got a new building which was inaugurated in December, school authorities are not using it as it was constructed with low quality materials.

The deceased, identified as Bharat Bidika of Ghantikhal village, was a Class 10 student of a residential school at Kopapadar village.

The couple's two sons and a daughter-in-law have been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after their condition deteriorated. 

According to the deceased’s family members, Laxmi, 29, had migrated to Tamil Nadu in search of work in November last year.

Following the detection of new cases, the Rayagada district administration has declared the college's Hostel A and B as micro containment zones and sealed the premises.
