Two bodies were found lying on the railway tracks near Rayagada station and Saintala station in Bolangir district on late Sunday night.

As per reports, the body of the home guard was found on the tracks just 50 metres from Rayagada railway station. He was on duty at the residence office of Rayagada SP.

Sources said he had a cut mark on his neck.

While the exact cause of his death is yet to be ascertained, the Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel reached the spot for enquiry after sending the body for post-mortem.

Similarly, the headless body of a youth was recovered from the railway tracks just 100 metres from Saintala railway station in Bolangir on Monday morning.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained.

While the body has reportedly been lying since late last night, the police are yet to reach the spot.

It is suspected that he was hit by a train last night or might have fallen from a running train. However, the exact reason of his death is yet to be clarified by the police.
