Former Rajya Sabha MP N Bhaskar Rao
The Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM) Court in Rayagada issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) on Tuesday against former Rajya Sabha parliamentarian N Bhaskar Rao and five others in connection with a 14-year-old murder case.
According to sources, the former MP and five others were allegedly involved in the crime. The deceased tribal leader identified as Bhagirathi Mandangi had gone missing on December 15, 2010. His body was subsequently found in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.

It was then alleged that the tribal leader was killed in a planned manner. Probe of the much-debated crime was subsequently handed over to the Crime Branch. However, the former MP claimed to be ignorant of the court order.
When contacted, the former MP said, “I have no information of any NBW issued against me.”
“Based on sufficient evidence, the Honourable Court of SDJM Ms. Varsha Das in Rayagada issued warrants against the former MP N Bhaskar Rao, N Adinarayana, K Krishna Rao, Y Venkateswar Rao alias Konda Babu, P Dilip Kumar, and Eipili Sanyasi Raju,” prosecution lawyer Samal Tandi said mediapersons.
“Accused persons had suppressed the sensitive case under their clout and political power for nearly the last 15 years. However, justice has been delayed but not denied,” prosecution lawyer Tandi expressed.
