Fake certificate job scam: Crime Branch makes fresh arrest, 26 arrested so far

The Crime Branch on Thursday intensified its probe into the alleged job scam involving the use of fake certificates in Bolangir district. In the ongoing investigation, officials have now made another arrest, adding to the list of suspects already taken into custody.

According to reports, the Crime Branch has arrested Malay Bhoi, a resident of Kundabandh village under Kesinga police station limits in Kalahandi district. With this, the number of arrests in connection with the case has risen further.

Earlier, as many as 25 individuals had already been apprehended for their involvement in procuring or facilitating employment through forged documents. 

The Crime Branch sources indicated that the investigation is far from over and more arrests are likely in the coming days as deeper layers of the network are being unearthed.

This scandal has raised serious concerns over recruitment procedures and the loopholes exploited by unscrupulous elements to secure positions meant for deserving candidates. Authorities have assured strict action against all those found guilty in the case.
