At least three persons were killed and nine others were injured in separate road mishaps reported from Bhubaneswar and Rayagada in Odisha.

As per initial reports, a youth from Balianta identified as Biswajit Ray lost his life after the SUV he was travelling in along with four others met with an accident on Gohira flyover near Tamando area on Sunday night.

The SUV was coming from Khordha side and it is said that the accident occurred after it hit a divider. Identity of the other four injured is yet to be ascertained. All of them have been admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar.

Similarly, two bikers sustained injuries after they were hit by a car in front of Kali temple in Baramunda area. In Rayagada, one person died while three others were injured in an accident involving a car. Sources said all the occupants of the car hail from Andhra Pradesh and had come to Bargarh district in Odisha to attend a marriage function.

The accident occurred between 3 am and 4 am today when they were returning. Following the accident, Ambadola police and fire services team reached the spot and carried out the rescue operation. All the injured have been admitted to Muniguda hospital.

In Angul, another person was killed in a road mishap on NH-55 at Jarapada. The victim has been identified as Jogi Biswal of Maratira village in the district. Following the incident, irate locals blocked the national highway demanding immediate arrest of the accused and compensation.
