The SHGs supporting BJP and other political parties fear they would be targeted after the bypoll ends and the BJD comes to power in Dhamnagar.
Irate villagers also detained eight police officers inclduing Dhamnagar Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Inspector In Charge (IIC) who reportedly had gone to the village to rescue the representative of the Sarpanch.
On the other hand, CM Naveen Patnaik might also join the campaigning, reports said. However, there has been no official confirmation in this regard.
His shocking revelation comes a day after one of his supporters revealed the incident in OTV’s Jana Mancha programme titled ‘Dhamnagar Ghamasan’.
A team of the saffron party led by Lekhashree Samantsinghar met the CEO and submitted a memorandum in this regard.
“I am sure that my father’s blessings and people’s love will help us win the election again,” said Suryabanshi Suraj.
Suraj is the son of former MLA late Bishnu Sethi.
On Sunday, the former BJD MLA took out a massive road show at Rangipur under Rangeilunda block and called out government officials.
As per the report, among the top ten regional parties in the country, the BJD is on eighth position with its fixed deposits in banks totalling Rs 118.42 crore.
