No road, no problem; Health worker turns lifesaver, carries patient on makeshift stretcher

In a heart-touching incident from Malkangiri district, a health worker turned savior for a patient after he carried her on his shoulders to ensure she received timely medical care. The incident took place near Tulasi Pahad in Mathili block.

According to reports, a woman from the village was unwell. Family members called an ambulance to transport her to the local hospital after her condition worsened. However, due to muddy roads, the vehicle was unable to climb the hilly terrain.

Without losing hope, health worker Harekrushna Patika, with the help of local villagers, arranged a makeshift stretcher. He carried the woman down the difficult path to reach the waiting ambulance. The patient was then admitted to the hospital for treatment.

Patika’s timely decision helped the woman get timely medical help. His dedication and compassion have drawn widespread praise from the community and beyond.
