The deceased’s family has been pleading with the administration and state government to bring back the body to Odisha.

Senior police officials said that the accused Manoj Parida of Ganjam district is a noted criminal and around 13 cases are pending against him at various police stations. All the four accused involved in the contractor's murder have been produced before the court.

Forester Mati Hansda was shot dead allegedly by poachers inside the Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) on June 16.

The deceased's family members alleged that she was killed on June 19; and without informing them, her in-laws took her to the cremation ground and performed the last rites in haste with an intention to do away with the proof.

It is suspected that Kabita has been murdered by her husband Karunakar Mahalik. She had married Karunakar recently after the death of her first husband. The suspect Karunakar is reportedly missing after the incident.

A man and his two relatives were arrested for killing his wife and thereafter setting the body on fire with the intention to destroy evidence in Bolangir district. 

The miscreants opened three rounds of fire at Ramesh, leading to his death on the spot.

As per initial reports, the youth, who was said to be under the influence of some narcotics substance, entered the houses of the two women and attacked them with the help of a sword.

According to sources, the accused, identified as Prafulla Bindhani, launched an attack on his uncle Haru and cousin Krishna in which the duo sustained critical injuries.

While the victim is yet to be formally identified by police in the UK, reports from India indicated it was Kontham Tejaswini – a young professional from Hyderabad.

The accused has been identified as 39-year-old Senali Sen, a resident of NSR Green Apartments in Bilekahalli locality. She hailed from West Bengal and had resided in the flat for six years.

As per reports, the accused Raju Lakra has been detained by police and is being interrogated. The incident occurred when Raju’s wife was not at home. Sources said that there were some issues between the couple as they always used to quarrel.

The arrested grandson has been identified as 23-year-old Supreeth, a resident of Gayathripuram Layout in Mysuru. Sulochana (75) is the deceased elderly woman.
