Man kills, hangs body of 5-year-old son in Odisha’s Rourkela

 A man has been accused of murdering and hanging the body of his 5-year-old son. The shocking incident has been reported from Sitalpada slum under Uditnagar police limits in Rourkela on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Aryan Lakra.

As per reports, the accused Raju Lakra has been detained by police and is being interrogated. The incident occurred when Raju’s wife was not at home. Sources said that there were some issues between the couple as they always used to quarrel.

Gunu Lakra, mother of the deceased minor said, “I had left home leaving my son at the anganwadi centre. My husband has killed my son as he always used to fight with me. I was not at home when he killed my son.”

Lakra further said that her husband always doubts her and accuses her of having an affair.

Sukanti Majhi, a local resident said, “It is an unfortunate incident and everybody is in a state of shock as nobody thought that a father could ever kill his son. There were disputes between the couple and they used to fight. The man was disturbed as he had taken some loan.”

The incident occurred when the woman was not at home. “Such incidents will have a negative impact on the society. Both the man and his wife are responsible for the incident," Majhi added.
