Double murder rocks Odisha: Youth hacks 2 women to death with sword in Jagatsinghpur

In a shocking incident, a youth reportedly hacked two women to death with the help of a sword at Expressway colony in Kujang area of Jagatsinghpur district on Sunday.

As per initial reports, the youth, who was said to be under the influence of some narcotics substance, entered the houses of the two women and attacked them with the help of a sword. The exact reason behind the attack is not clear. Sources said, one woman died on the spot while the other woman was rushed to the local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.

As per initial reports, both the deceased were neighbours. The reason behind the attack has not been ascertained yet.

The accused youth has been detained at Kujang police station and further investigation in connection with the incident is on. It is alleged that the accused youth had been creating a nuisance in public for the past few days in the region.
