In a macabre act, a man allegedly killed his uncle and cousin following a dispute between two families at Kabataghati village under Raibania police limits in Balasore district on Wednesday night.
The deceased have been identified as Haru Bindhani and Krishna Bindhani.
According to sources, the accused, identified as Prafulla Bindhani, launched an attack on his uncle Haru and cousin Krishna in which the duo sustained critical injuries.
The duo was immediately rushed to Balasore district headquarters hospital (DHH), where they died while undergoing treatment, sources informed, adding that, Prafulla fled the village after committing the crime.
“The incident happened at around 11 pm when we were busy in a discussion about a marriage. The injured were immediately rushed to the hospital, but they succumbed to their injuries during the treatment,” a villager said.
On being informed about the incident, Raibania police reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter.
