In the first phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha, 234 candidates are contending, with 65 facing criminal charges. The richest candidate, Biplab Patra, boasts assets worth Rs 33.36 crore.

The BJP had earlier made allegations against Singh before the ECI. Acting on the allegation, the ECI had on April 5 directed the immediate removal of Ashish Singh from the post of IG(Western range).

Under Subhadra Yojana, every woman will receive a cash voucher of Rs 50,000 which can be encashed over two years. The party has promised to create 25 lakh Lakhpati Didis by 2027 with industrial clusters for every 500 SHGs to facilitate product marketing and promotion

Nadda said, "We have committed to create 25 Lakpati Didis in Odisha by promoting industry cluster with help of 500 SHGs and to provide R10,000 assistance to fishermen during non-production period."
