The Congress party on Friday announced its nominees for the Rae Bareli and Amethi constituencies in Uttar Pradesh.

During his visit to Ghatagaon Maa Tarini temple on Tuesday, Patnaik told media persons, "I have received a proposal from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to contest from here. Besides, local people are pleading with me to contest elections.”
BJP leader Balabhadra Majhi said, “This shows the shallow attitude of the BJD. The allegation made against the Home Minister is fictitious. Such allegations based on a doctored video are meant to scare people and to extract votes from them.”
The biggest corruption in Odisha is the chit fund scam. If a BJD leader is found involved in any crime, the party is giving ticket to his/her son/daughter, alleged BJP leader Sajjan Sharma.
BJD candidate Jagannath Saraka, BJP candidate Jagannath Nudruka, Congress nominee Nilamadhab Hikaka and Independent candidate Nilamadhab Ulaka are in the fray in the Bissam Cuttack Assembly seat in Rayagada.
