Wrapping his final public meeting in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday exuded confidence of the BJP coming to power in the state. Moved by the enthusiasm of party workers and people from Koraput and Kalahandi districts, Modi stated that such enthusiasm clearly shows that the BJD will exit the state paving the way for a double-engine government of the BJP for the first time in the state.

Odisha To Get First BJP CM: PM Modi

Making a veiled attack on the BJD, PM Modi said that the people of Odisha will get their first BJP CM and the CM will be the son or daughter of the state and not any outsider.

“The one who respects the soil of Odisha and its culture, knows the problems and solutions and has connections with the people will become BJP’s CM. This is Modi Ki Guarantee. I pray to the people to bless the BJP so that it wins all the 21 Lok Sabha seats and bumper seats in Assembly polls in Odisha so that Odisha gets new energy and new leadership,” said PM Modi.

Asking people to remember the dates, PM Modi said that June 4 will be the expiry date of BJD government and he has come to invite all to the swearing-in ceremony of BJP’s CM in Bhubaneswar.

“I strongly believe that people accept Modi’s invitation and will not decline like those who refuted the Ram Mandir’s invitation,” he said.

‘BJP’s Manifesto is Best’

The Odisha unit has released a superb Sankalp Patra (manifesto) as it aims at fulfilling the dreams and aspirations of millions of people in the state, including youths, women and other sections of the society. The Subhadra Yojana will change the lives of women in Odisha, said PM Modi.

Be it the construction of Odisha Bhawan, pension for elderly, jobs for youths, BJP’s manifesto has the best guarantees and the work will begin immediately after the formation of BJP government in the state, said PM Modi.

‘BJD Not Implemented And Hijacked Central Schemes’

Despite talent, BJD government has not given scope to the human resources. The state government did not allow central schemes’ implementation and hijacked some schemes, said PM Modi.

Giving example of Ayushman Bharat, PM Modi said that the BJD government is not implementing the scheme thereby depriving Rs 5 lakh treatment to people.

‘MSP Hike Modi Ki Guarantee’

The BJP government will be formed in Odisha and the people here will get all benefits of the central schemes, said PM Modi in his address. In Chhattisgarh, paddy is being procured from the farmers at Rs 3100 per quintal while in Odisha paddy is being procured at Rs 2100. BJP has promised to procure paddy at Rs 3100 the day after the party comes to power in the state. The condition of Kendu leaf growers is deplorable and has decided to provide bonus as well, he said.

Despite Indirabati dam, the people of Nabarangpur and Koraput are not getting benefits, including the farmers while the farmers in Chhattisgarh can have three harvests in a year. Due to several issues, the farmers are a worried lot in Odisha. The BJD government here could not resolve the issues in the last 25 years, said the PM.

“I urge people to give an opportunity to BJP and we will make Odisha the Number 1 state in the country in the next five years. BJP is committed to resolving all issues concerning the people of Odisha and its development. You have seen Modi’s 10-year term and the work done including hiking the budget for tribal welfare. We also gave the country its first tribal President who is a daughter of Odisha. The state is providing leadership to the country, stated the Prime Minister.

"40 years back, a Prime Minister had come to Odisha and said that he sends 1 rupee from Delhi but only 15 paisa reaches the people. The Congress used to loot the remaining money," said PM Modi.

“You have given this sevak an opportunity and ensured that nobody will dare to loot money meant for the people. In Jharkhand, huge cash has been seized. It is natural for the opposition to abuse Modi for crackdown on corruption. Now the corruption has been eliminated as beneficiaries are getting direct cash transfer in their bank account,” said Modi.

‘Jagannath Dham To Be Transformed’

Odisha has a rich cultural heritage and we picked Konark wheel to showcase it during G20 Summit. Several world leaders clicked pictures and asked me what it was. “I proudly stated that it is the pride of Odisha. We undertook measures for development of Kashi Vishwanath Corridor and other projects. Modi government will also work for development of Puri,” said PM Modi.
