National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) JP Nadda on Sunday released Odisha BJP’s long-awaited Sankalp Patra (election manifesto) which has featured 21 important promises for the people of Odisha.

Here are details of the BJP manifesto for Odisha: 

  1. To end widespread corruption, zero tolerance policy towards corruption. Return of money of chit fund money to investors within 18 months. All revenues generated from minerals and mining are to be used for Odisha's progress.

  2. Under Samrudh Krushak Niti, paddy will be procured for Rs 3,100 per quintal with provision of electronic weighing machine and elimination of katni-chatni.

  3. Under Subhadra Yojan, every woman will receive a cash voucher of Rs 50,000 which can be encashed over two years.

  4. To establish Odia Samudya Bhawan in all metro cities of India to ensure the welfare of the Odia persons living outside the state.

  5. 25 lakh Lakhpati Didis will be created by 2027 with industrial clusters for every 500 SHGs to facilitate product marketing and promotion

  6. Provision of Rs 10,000 as annual lean period allowance to each fisherman with facilities of fishing harbours, cold stores, and processing units.

  7. Construction of 75,000 km rural and state highway roads connecting all gram panchayats, the district headquarters and the state capital

  8. To shape Odisha into a top-performing economy with the creation of over 3.5 lakh jobs by 2029. To develop an industrial corridor connecting Rourkela, Sambalpur, Paradeep and Dhamra by June 2027. To introduce Promoting Regional Opportunities and Sustaining Entrepreneurial Resilience(PROSPR-Odisha) scheme to boost MSME sector. To set up state-of-the-art IT parks in four cities – Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Berhampur and Balasore. Special focus on the automobile. EV, semiconductor and IT/ITES industry through the Make in Odisha scheme.

  9. To provide legal, medical and engineering courses in Odia.

  10. Recruitment to 1.5 lakh vacant government posts with priority on OBC and EWS and 65,000 posts to be filled up in two years

  11. To introduce Kendu Patra Tolali Kalyana Yojana under which leaves will be procured at Rs 2 per Kerry with 35 per cent bonus to the leaf pluckers and 10 per cent to leaf binders  

  12. To complete implementation of 15 lakh houses under PM Awas Yojana. To provide drinking water to 26 lakh households and 40,000 public places under Jal Jeevan Mission

  13. To undo the injustice done to Hindu devotees by the government’s mismanagement of the Puri temple. To expedite the probe of the missing key to the Ranta Bhadar of Shri Jagannath mandir. To restore the auditing process of Ratna Bhandar’s inventory and publish a report. Compensation for the evicted mathas during the Puri Parikarma project and their re-establishment. Steps to open all the four gates of Sri Mandir for devotees

  14. To improve the livelihood of weavers and to promote the textile industry. To set up three integrated textile parks in Western Odisha to generate 51,000 jobs. To launch Bunakar Samman Nidhi Yojana for weavers and handloom workers with provision of monthly financial assistance of Rs 3,000 for all the beneficiaries aged between 40 and 60, and Rs 3,500 for all beneficiaries above 60 years.       

  15. To provide an insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh to labourers of the unorganised sector and carry out a registration drive for these workers through e-Shram initiative of the Central government.

  16. To implement Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Aarogya Yojana(AB-PMJAY) within 100 days of coming to power. This universal health insurance will cover all the residents of Odisha with an income lower than Rs 8 lakh per annum.

  17. All tribal students to get Rs 5,000 annually under Madho Singh Haath-Kharcha to reduce dropout rates.

  18. To launch the Mukhyamantri Sahayata Yojana to provide a pension of Rs 3,000 per month to all elderly, divyangs, widows and the destitute in Odisha. The elderly above 80 years and divyangs with 80 per cent disability will get Rs 3,500.  

  19. To  implement the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Jojana across urban and rural households of Odisha 

  20. To make Odisha the state with the third-largest tourist footfall, which will contribute to the development of the tourist economy and generate employment opportunities. 

  21. Under 'Mission Swasthya Odisha', health infrastructure to be strengthened with the installation of 36,000 beds in the CHCs and PHCs, to modernise every CHC by 2027 with ICUs, dialysis units and operation theatres and upgrade 100 CHCs into Sub-Divisional Hospitals and to establish a nursing college, a medical college and a super speciality hospital in every district.
