BMC celebrates third Raahgiri Day
Bhubaneswar: In an attempt to create awareness about the creaking traffic system and environmental issues in the capital city, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) is celebrating the third Raahgiri Day this Sunday.
The weekly street event, which is aimed at promoting healthy living by encouraging an active lifestyle and highlighting environmental issues and concerns is being celebrated from Master Canteen Square to Rama Mandir Square here.
The movement of vehicles has been restricted on this stretch from 6:30 am to 10:30 am during the celebration of the day.
The celebration was attended by Higher Education minister Pradip Panigrahi, Tourism and Culture minister Ashok Panda, BMC Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena and Smart City brand ambassador and Ollywood actress Archita.
Expressing their happiness over the capital city finding the top place in the smart city list, the locals of the temple city cut cakes and greeted each other.
A number of competitions for students along with rock band programs, yoga, cycling and dancing competitions were organised by BMC
