Sunil had 150 girls working as ‘paid girlfriends’: Police
Bhubaneswar: Sunil Meher, the alleged kingpin of a flesh trade racket in Odisha and outside, had as many as 150 girls, mostly college students, who were working as ‘paid girlfriends’ for rich customers across the country. The startling revelations, extracted during interrogation of Meher, has shocked the investigating officials.
Meher, who was arrested by the Commissionerate police four days back from Kolkata, has also spilled the beans about his ‘well organised’ crime network before police officials.
Sources said the notorious pimp was running an ‘escort service’ website to provide customers with call girls in metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Goa. The police also got to know that the Kyrgyzstan national arrested from an apartment in Chandrasekharpur area a few days ago was brought from Kolkata by Meher’s city-based ‘agents’.
These agents were paid between Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 as commission for escorting a single call girl, police said.
“He used to hire girls by paying Rs 1.5 lakh on a monthly basis and bring them to Bhubaneswar. Sometimes, he was also bringing foreign nationals from Goa and Kolkata,” a police official said on condition of anonymity.
Sources said Sunil was earning somewhere around Rs 1 lakh a day, excluding the agents’ commission, from his ‘business’.
Police said once Meher’s bank accounts are tracked, more things about his network will come to the fore.
