One held in Ganjam gold jewellery loot incident

Berhampur: Police arrested an accused in connection with the Ganjam gold jewellery loot incident, in which four bike-borne miscreants looted gold ornaments weighing more than one kilogram from the owner of a jewellery shop near Buguda in Ganjam district last month.

The cops also seized 176 gram molten gold after conducting a raid on a shop. Besides, they sized Rs 46,000 cash and six mobile phones from the possession of accused Manoj. Three teams have been formed to nab the culprits. Efforts are on to nab the rest seven accused in this case, said Bhanjanagr SDPO Utkal Keshari Das.

Notably, some unidentified bike-borne miscreants allegedly looted jewellery weighing more than one kilogram from Subas Jewellers owner Pramod Chandra Moharana at gunpoint near Buguda bazaar in Ganjam district on November 25.
