Govt to form task force to implement agro-based schemes
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Friday decided to form a task force for implementation of agro-based schemes.
A decision to this effect was taken at the Agriculture Cabinet meeting presided over by chief minister Naveen Patnaik at the State Secretariat here.
It was decided that henceforth seed subsidy amount would be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the farmers.
Keeping in mind the severe drought in the state last year, the meeting decided to dig one lakh deep bore wells to ensure that the farmers of the drought-hit areas are able to save their crops at the time of drought.
