Padma Awardee Dr Gopal Chandra Mitra passed away at his residence in Sahid Nagar in Bhubaneswar late on Thursday night. 

He was 85.

He was unwell for sometime and undergoing treatment.

The former PWD Secretary was appointed as the Secretary of the ASI core team formed for the restoration works at Srimandir.

Body Of Woman Stuffed In Sack Found In Jagatsinghpur, 3 Detained

The body of an unidentified woman stuffed in a sack was found inside a house in Kunjakothi village under Erasama police limits of Jagatsinghpur district on Wednesday.

Although the identity of the deceased is yet to be established by the police, reports said she was a resident of Ajagarabedi village.

Meanwhile, the police have detained three persons including a woman and questioning them for their alleged involvement in the case.
