Lightning Strike Kills 3 Minors In Odisha

In a tragic incident, three minor boys and 18 goats were killed by a lightning strike in Baghuashala village under Chandua police limits near Baripada. The incident occurred when the boys were out on the field to graze the animals.
As per reports, the boys had taken shelter under a tree when the rain started pouring. Meanwhile, lightning struck the tree and they succumbed on the spot.

Nayagarh Minor Girl Death Case Hearing In Supreme Court Today

A bench of the Supreme Court led by Justice AM Khanwilkar will today conduct the hearing into the sensational death case of five-year-old Nayagarh minor girl Pari who was allegedly kidnapped and murdered in July last year. The justice panel will hear a petition filed by Soudamini Sahoo, the mother of the deceased girl. Senior lawyer Kapil Sibal will appear on behalf of the State government of Odisha. Similarly, senior advocate Mahesh Jethmalani will appear as the counsel for Soudamini Sahoo. Citing displeasure over the probe of the Special Investigation Team into the case, Soudamini had knocked the doors of the country's apex court seeking its intervention in directing an independent national level probe agency to take over the investigation into the case.

Paralakhemundi Assistant Conservator of Forest Sustains Serious Burn Injuries

An Assistant Conservator of Forest posted at Paralakhemundi district headquarters has been admitted to Berhampur MKCG Medical College and Hospital after suffering serious burn injuries. The forest official identified as Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra is undergoing critical care at the hospital and doctors have said that his condition is in critical stage. As per medical sources, the ACF has sustained third-degree burns with almost 80% of his body having injuries. Even though the exact circumstances and reason behind the incident are yet to be clear, his family has also not clarified anything on the matter. DFO, Tehsildar, SDPO and Paralakhemundi Police IIC have initiated a probe into the incident.
