The Southwest Monsoon on Tuesday covered the entire country against the normal date of July 8, said India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The low pressure area over Westcentral and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh- south Odisha coasts has become less marked. However associated cyclonic circulation lies over south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts extending up to mid-tropospheric levels tilting south-westwards, said IMD.

As per IMD, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Gajapati and Ganjam in the next 24 hours.

Weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next five days:

Day 1 (valid from 1330 hrs IST of 13.07.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 14.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Gajapati and Ganjam.

Day 2 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.07.2021 up to 0830 hrs IST of 15.07.2021)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of south Odisha and at a few places over the districts of north Odisha.

Day 3 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 15.07.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 16.07.2021)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over several parts of Odisha.

Day 4 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 16.07.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 17.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Bhadrak and Balasore.

Day 5 (valid from 0830 hrs IST of 17.07.2021up to 0830 hrs IST of 18.07.2021)

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal and Cuttack. Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara Jagatsinghpur, Khordha and Puri.
