Sleuths of Narcotics Bureau on Wednesday seized a truck carrying 700 kg of ganja from Tamando on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. The contraband was being smuggled to Haryana from Malkangiri district. The approximate market value of the seized contraband was Rs 50 lakh. Two persons have been arrested in this connection.

A man was trampled to death by a herd of elephants on wee hours of Wednesday at Sankhapada village near Koida Range in Sundargarh district.
The deceased has been identified as Bhimsen Nayak. The herd of elephants attacked Nayak and trampled him to death while he was sleeping in a dhaba, said locals.
