Two delivery executives of Blinkit, an instant delivery service of groceries and other essentials, were allegedly beaten up by some people in west Delhi’s Rajouri Garden. Their mistake was that they did not have change, reports said.

Video of the assault has now gone viral on social media platforms. Enraged, netizens demanded the immediate arrest of the accused.

According to police, the two delivery agents – Aman and Gurpal singh – had gone to deliver grocery items to a house. However, the customer identified as Tarun Suri started misbehaving with them over loose change.

Later, Tarun and his family members thrashed the two delivery executives. A passer-by recorded the act and uploaded it on Twitter and it has now gone viral.

Sharing the video, the user wrote, “Incident happen in j block rajouri garden, Delhi. Delivery partner is beaten by blinkit customer. Rider was delivering essentials items to customers but they are treated like nothing… hey companies take strict against customer. @DelhiPolice @letsblinkit @zomato @zomatocare.”

Blinkit responded to his message and wrote, “Hi, please be assured that the safety and well-being of our delivery partners are extremely important to us. We are getting this concern investigated with the teams so necessary action will be implemented.”

When contacted, Deputy Commissioner of Police (west) Ghandhyam Bansal said that the customers have been booked and action will be taken against them.
