Kuchinda Tehsildar suspended over land dispute allegations

Kuchinda Tehsildar, Mitali Madhusmita Dalei, has been suspended from service by the Revenue Department over allegations of bias in a land dispute case. The action was taken after a formal complaint was lodged by a local resident, leading to departmental proceedings.

The complainant had lodged his grievance with the Chief Minister, the Revenue Minister and the Northern Revenue Commissioner seeking justice. Acting on this complaint, the Revenue Department suspended Tehsildar Mitali Madhusmita Dalei. The order further stated that during the period of suspension, she would report to the Sambalpur District Collector’s office.

Complaint Against Tehsildar

According to complainant Rajesh Agrawal, his cousins allegedly conspired to falsely register mutation cases. He claimed they went to the extent of declaring him and his immediate family dead, enabling them to take over the properties without proper notice. Agrawal further alleged that the Tehsildar signed the documents without issuing due notice, thereby allowing the transfer to go through without his knowledge.

Agrawal said, “My cousins falsely registered some cases for mutation. They had also declared me and my immediate family dead. They colluded so that we would not receive a notice regarding the same and took away all our properties. The Tehsildar signed the documents but did not issue a proper notice and did everything without our knowledge.”

Response Awaited

The allegations have raised serious questions over the handling of land dispute cases in the region. However, the reaction of the suspended Tehsildar, Mitali Madhusmita Dalei, could not be obtained.
